Paul B. Gleeson – Proprietor
I was 15 years old when I first stepped inside The Merchant’s House and Store. From that moment I was in awe of this wonderful building. I am passionate about architecture and local history.
This interest has led to me winning twice The Irish Times Young Historian for County Clare. I have written a book entitled ‘Kilrush a Walking Tour’.
I am a collector and gather, from my teens I went to auctions bidding on items that I did not need but interested me. If items were been thrown out I would offer to take them away!
However, before I undertook the restoration of the house; I went to college, graduating from Oxford Brookes University, worked in various fields of employment, met and married my wonderful wife Vera and we now have three beautiful daughters, Anna, Beatrice and Clara. Twenty years after stepping inside The Merchant’s House and Store I finally undertook the project to restore and convert this special place. I do hope you come to stay with us.
